Production and Operations Management (POM) is evolving and growing. This course provides an introduction to POM, covering both strategic issues and practical applications: forecasting, product and service design, capacity planning, facilities layout, inventory planning, material requirements planning, scheduling, supply chain management, lean production, and project management. Many of these topics are individual courses by themselves, and therefore this course can be treated as an integration of several courses in POM areas. Students are required to make a group presentation (including ppt and video) for a survey of state-of-the art progress of POM in terms of hardware, software, system, and idea.
